Some people are traditionalists and conservative when it comes to mixing the old with the new but personally I love the juxtaposition and contrast when old meets new. Why should we continue to reproduce new old buildings? When we can reflect modern times to create a new history for the decades and centuries to come.
This contrast I stumbled upon when strolling the old world of Stuttgart looking at the Castles and old Town Hall buildings there in the centre of them all was a glass box created for their art gallery.
Inside was your classic white walls with timber floor and raw concrete which is almost standard issue, I found the floor plan to be fantastic for a lazy stroll with a few snaps along the way.
I really enjoyed my walk thru the exhibitions and installations by Haegue Yang from Seoul, Hans Jorg Glattfelder of Zurich and Vincent Tavenne
If your in Stuttgart make sure you visit around lunch time the restaurant on the top floor looks amazing unfortunately I was there a little early and it had not opened yet.
